On the Road in Rhodesia in the 1970's
One of my short memoirs of travelling in Southern Africa has been turned into a podcast by BYU’s (Brigham Young University) Undergrad Podcast Lab, “Journeys” is a podcast that tells stories of travel and the people who have been shaped by it. Each episode features a reading of a personal essay about travel, and a discussion with the author about how travel led them to growth,
discovery, or transformation. Click here or on the image.
The piece is about travelling to Salisbury, Rhodesia in search of a job with the Rhodesian Railways as it was then. There is also an interview with me after the piece is read. This is one of five or six essays covering my travels in Southern Africa in the 1970's.
