On being accepted
On being accepted
As one door closes
Another one opens
This is the old old adage
A poem is rejected
Your manuscript declined
The rebuff is oh so savage
Our hearts on paper
Our tear soaked pages
Opened up for those to ravage
But come the day
The merry merry day
A letter to reverse the damage
Dear Rob, it starts
We’re so pleased to say
Your words, they will not vanish
In the next edition
In black and white
It surely is an advantage
So take heart, rejoice
Stand steadfast with your rhymes
It’s just a rite de passage.
